Jeff & Jenny are absolutely soul mates. They are best friends, so deeply in love, an amazing couple and incredible individuals! I love hearing Jenny talk to Jeff, she bounces all of her ideas off of him and she rolls with her every vision. The world is 100% their’s together. I am so lucky to know such an amazing couple. I first met them a few years ago for a family session where Jeff, Jenny & their 3 kids all wore purge masks and had spooky props (you may remember that epic shoot). Fast forward to our friendship that blossomed & many more shoots. We had their engagement session with smoke bombs & pumpkins before their original wedding date (Halloween… October 31st, 2020) which was cancelled due to COVID-19. They were heartbroken, and so was I. But the next part of their wedding planning had just begun, and it gave them even more time to make their very special day even more EPIC!
This wedding was just as amazing as the Dorio’s are. Located in Cape May, NJ, November 20th, 2021, Jeff got ready at his parent’s air bnb with the boys and Jenny got ready at Congress Hall where the hallways were covered in candy canes, garland & Christmas decor which matched their wedding themed perfectly: Nightmare Before Christmas. The wedding invitations stated: please only wear black or red and encouraged holiday wear and bad behavior ;) Jeff and his boys were a blast to hang out with during their getting ready stage, and Jenny and her group getting ready were a blast & so funny! After everyone was ready and the clock ticked down, Jenny began her walk to the beautiful Catholic Church down the street in her flowing black gown to meet her fiancé who was waiting alongside of their closest friends & family members. What a beautiful church. Breath taking ceremony. Tears were flowing & happiness filled every single one of our hearts. Once the ceremony was complete, the wedding party and myself all hopped on the Jitney’s and headed to beach for some group portraits. Then it was cocktail hour which was full of surprises & activities for everyone to enjoy. We all waited in anticipation for the doors of the reception area to open where the night really was going to begin. Finally, we all flooded in to find our seats. The introductions began and the wedding party came rolling in. Then the bride and groom were introduced behind a curtain! WHAT A SIGHT. Jeff & Jenny Dorio, for the first time!!!! Jenny had changed at some point before their intro into a gorgeous gold dress which made it easier for her to dance with Jeff for their first dance. They had practiced this dance leading up to their wedding. I have no words to describe how incredible this dance was, but I’ll tell you I had to pause photographing it because I was bawling (and tearing up writing this & thinking about it). Everyone was full of emotion. After the dance concluded, she slipped back into her black gown for dinner, drinks, dancing & the PARTY!
I wish I could relive this day over & over again with this couple and their guests. It was an honor to be there capturing every second of their day. I absolutely swooned over the decor in their reception and the detail they put into their day. Every part of this day put me “in my feels”. Jeff and Jenny, I FREAKING LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
